Diskpart Utility: create and format drive.

This utility is used to create a partition of disk and format the disk. You can use Diskpart utility any version of windows 2000, xp, 7, 8 & 10.

How to use Diskpart utility? Steps by step guide.





Step 1.i.a

Click on start button and type Diskpart. Right click on DDiskpart.exe then click on open.

Diskpart will open.

Step 1.ii.a

Press window button + R run command will open and type “Diskpart” and press ok or hit enter.

Step 1.ii.b

Now click on yes. And diskpart.exe will open as you see in Step 1.i.b.

Step 2.

Now Diskpart command steps start from here. Read and do it carefully.
Type:-
                Diskpart>list disk                                     (press enter)

                Diskpart>clean                                        (press enter)
                Diskpart>create partition primary      (press enter)
                Diskpart>select partition 2                   (press enter)
                Diskpart>active                                       (press enter)
                Diskpart>format fs=ntfs                        (press enter) [wait until format is not 100%.]
                Diskpart>assing                                       (press enter)
                Diskpart>exit                                            (press enter).
