How to Reset Your Forgotten Login Password in Windows? : 2 ways

Are you locked your current login account and forget your Login password of your PC. Don’t fear about that now you can login in your account with the changed password. Windows have in-built Administrator account which is the disabled default.  But here we don’t need to enable and we can change the password. Luckily there are two really easy ways to reset the password of an account.

There are many ways to reset your password without application software and with the help of application software. Using application software need other Windows installed PC to unlock the locked account PC. On the other hand, we don’t need anything while changing the password of locked account PC.  Here both ways are shown without application software or with the help of application software.

Ways for resetting your forgotten login password in Windows.

Method 1.

Reset your login password without application software.

Step 1.

Restart your locked PC and when it shows starting windows then press power button until your PC not turned off.

Step 2.

Your PC will start in windows error recovery. Then you have to launch your PC in Launch Startup Repair (recommended) go on it and hit Enter.

Step 3.

Wait until repair will not end and then click on cancel.

Step 4.

When you get startup Repair windows then scroll down and click on link x:\windows\system32\en-us\erofflps.txt

Step 5.

Notepad will open and now click on file then open go to computer and double click on Windows installed drive Local Drive C:\

Step 6.

Go to path C:\windows\system32\ and select “file type” “All File”. Scroll down and find CMD then make a copy with ctrl+c ctrl+v. you will get a file named “cmd-copy”.

Step 7.

In the same folder or path find sethc. This file executed as Sticky keys. And rename it into sethc1.

Step 8.

Now rename your “cmd-copy” into “sethc” and close all opened pop-up or files and restart your pc.

Step 9.

When your pc started and it will show the login screen then press shift 5 times. And then will get command prompt application on the screen.

Step 10.

Now we are near about to change login password of locked account. Here we need your account name which you want to change login password. Type this command in cmd.

Syntax:-

Net user  <ACCOUNT NAME> <NEW PASSWORD>

Example:-

net user teletrickmania tele

Step 11.

You will get the message of the successful task completed and then type exit and now log in with a new password.

Method 2.

Reset your password with software. There is so many software which will help you to do this task. But there we see only one of them.

Step 1.

Download and install isunshare Windows 7 Password Recovery tool.

Step 2.

Launch the password recovery software. Insert USB Drive or CD/DVD to make bootable with password recovery.

Step 3.

Choose your media type USB or CD/DVD and click on Begin Burning. It shows you successful message and then exit.

NOTE:- It will delete your entire data from the drive. So make backup or move your files from there.

Step 4.

Insert USB or CD/DVD (which you make bootable) into locked account windows computer. And make it first Boot Priority as USB Drive or CD/DVD from BIOS and then proceed.

Step 5.

Restart your locked pc and boot from USB Device and CD/DVD and select your system windows 7 and then select Administrator account which you want to reset the password.

Step 6.

When you select user name then click on reset password and admin password would become blank.

Step 7.

Reboot your locked PC with removing bootable drives and now can login in your account without any password.

There are some tips to prevent reset your admin or local admin password.

1. Keep your windows account password in your mind.
2. If you not able to keep your password in your mind then create windows recovery disk before your computer is locked.
3. If you not able to do both things or forget to do both then you have to use these trick to recover your windows login password.

Warning:- Don’t try this trick to harm anyone. These are only for educational purpose and try this step when you need urgently. Damage caused by these tricks we are not responsible do this trick when you need.

Caution:- using sticky key trick will lose you to access to encrypted file, emails and stored the password for Internet Explorer and network resources. So, don’t forget to backup your important data regularly.
